The Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas´ (TABIA)  greenTbiz program has recently launched a series of Solar & Community Power Seminars with participating BIAs across Toronto generously hosting these open-to-public events. The seminars are designed to educate BIAs, BIA members and local residents on how and why they should consider the development of solar PV projects in local BIA communities. Looking back at the 2011 Community Power Conference

In November we participated in the 2011 OSEA Community Power Conference. Sharing a booth with Riepma Consultants we got to meet a lot of people, some new and some familiar faces, as well as those we've had the pleasure of working with. Christine's talk on how to turn collaborations between commercial and community developers into a success and the KCI-sponsored keynote by Eckhard Fangmeier of Bio Energy Village Juehnde were well received.

With a couple of weeks gone by since the conference we can say that

• the great interest in community power and the many projects on the way
• the resolve of the sector to be a driving force in the future of green energy in Ontario and
• the potential of community power laid out in Eckhard Fangmeiers' speech

have been a source of great motivation and inspiration for us to continue to push the development of community power projects in Ontario and facilitate a more collaborative approach between commercial developers and the communities they engage in.
